This is a one-hour PowerPoint presentation on Integrated Mosquito Management.  It begins with a description Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs and Integrated Mosquito Management (IMM). An array of techniques are provided which may help applicators to reduce the use of pesticides. These include physical, cultural, biological, and chemical control. IPM and IMM approaches include discussion on the importance of mosquito identification and surveillance. Different types of traps will be decribed. It will also touch on mosquitos’ habits and management of population density through reduction of container habitats. Where pesticides are appropriate the discussion will promote healthy ecological use of pesticides to control arthropods. Precautions necessary to safeguard life, health, and property in the conducting of mosquito control and application of pesticides will be discussed via content on non-target organisms including bees. Overall this presentation will focus on the currently accepted practices in conducting control of adult and larval forms of mosquitoes and surveillance techniques.
